Elie Saab

From this year’s 2007 Spring/Summer Haute Couture shows in Paris (held late January), some of my favourite pieces were by a Lebanese designer, by the name of Elie Saab. Saab taught himself how to sew as a child, and when he was 18, in 1982, launched his Beruit-based label. He showed his first Haute Couture collection in Paris in 2003, and is now a permanent fixture on the Paris runways. He has dressed celebrities such as Halle Berry, Beyonce Knowles, Salma Hayek, and Catherine Zeta Jones.

His clothing features silk, chiffons, embroidered lace and pearl beading for a feminine aesthetic - so you know I’m going to be loving his items!

    You’re right, Ellie Saab does beautiful dresses - now if only one would land at my feet so I could wear it and feel like a princess!

    wow these dresses are so beautiful and well made! I’m impressed by the designer really. Some of the most popular and well known fashion designers havn’t been producing gowns this beautiful.

    i love elie saab he’s dresses are so romantic and beautiful i am getting married in a month and my dress was inspired by an elie saab dress worn by heidi klum years ago… i looked high and low for a beautiful dress… and could only find the one i have… i only wish i could afford for him to make it! he’s dresses are amazing!!!
